I am obsessed with genealogy and reading and my magazine (Therapeutic Thymes).
Writing has always been a sort of release for me. Poetry was an early escape for me until I learned how to deal with life.
I began writing professionally in high school, with my work appearing in several local newspapers. I graduated Lock Haven University with a degree in Mass Communications (Journalism). After graduation, I came home, continued writing covering a variety of topics.
Over the years, my articles have been published in Lancaster Farming; Heritage Quest Magazine; Ledger Newspapers (Solanco Sun Ledger, Parkesburg Post Ledger, Columbia Ledger); Lancaster Newspapers (Intelligencer Journal, New Era); Coatesville Daily Record; and the Village News. I was also published online at Knoji (formerly Factoidz); eHow; LiveStrong; Online Community News (SolancoNews.com, PA Farm News); and Plan-and-Prep. I most recently wrote for Examiner.com, as the Lancaster Diabetes Examiner, the Lancaster Prepper Examiner, and Lancaster City Buzz Examiner.
In 2003, I started an online newspaper company, which had two newspapers, the PA Farm News and SolancoNews.com. The latter covered everything from hometown heroes and local sports to new businesses to the Nickle Mines Shooting.I sold that business in December of 2008 due largely to personal issues.
In 2016 I started a quarterly print magazine, Therapeutic Thymes. It is dedicated to living a more natural, therapeutic, and sustainable way of life. Our Mission is to be THE Go To Resource for all things of Mind, Body, and Spirit.
I also work part-time seasonally at Stauffers of Kissel Hill Nursery (a beautiful nursery and greenhouse in Lititz, PA). I still offer my services doing genealogy work.
